From Our Roots- Canvas

This piece is a tribute to Lebanon, to its land, and to the traditions that live on through generations. The fig jam, the fresh figs, the leaves, these are all things that feel simple, but they carry so much history and identity. I included the cedar tree on the jar as a symbol of Lebanon itself, something strong, rooted, and enduring. Even in something as small as a jar of jam, there is a story of the land, of the people, and of the care that goes into preserving it. Growing up Arab, so much of our connection to our culture comes through food. Recipes passed down, flavors that feel like home, even when you are far from it. This painting is about that kind of connection. It is about holding onto where you come from, honoring it, and keeping it alive in the small, everyday ways.
